(en) The Atelier Leda carpet originated from collages that Leda made during the first lockdown period / spring 2020. The series was created on the one hand from a healthy dose of free time, on the other hand from a love to always start the design phase from drawings and paper. The translation from the paper to the tufted carpet is an ode to Leda's childhood. As a child she always played on a carpet of her father, which, in retrospect, has become a common thread through her childish fantasy. Each color had its own function and stimulated her fantasy again and again. A beautiful memory and experience that Leda wants to share with the outside world. A carpet that connects different generations. A playing field for youngsters to let their imagination run wild. An eye-catcher for the interior for design lovers of color and sleek compositions.
A functional object that pampers the eye. This is “an ode to the past”.
(nl) Het tapijt van Atelier Leda is ontstaan uit collages die Leda maakte tijdens eerste lockdownperiode/ voorjaar 2020. De reeks is enerzijds ontstaan uit een gezonde dosis vrije tijd, anderzijds uit een liefde om de ontwerpfase steeds vanuit tekeningen en papier te starten. De vertaling van het papier naar het getufte tapijt is een ode aan Leda’s kindertijd. Als kind speelde zij steeds op een tapijt van haar vader dat achteraf gezien als rode draad door haar kinderlijke fantasie is gaan dienen. Iedere kleur had een eigen functie en prikkelde haar fantasie steeds opnieuw. Een mooie herinnering en ervaring die Leda wil delen met de buitenwereld. Een tapijt dat verschillende generaties met elkaar verbindt. Voor jong een speelveld om de fantasie de vrije loop te laten gaan. Voor designliefhebbers van kleur en strakke composities een blikvanger voor het interieur.
Een functioneel object dat het oog verwent. Dit is “an ode to the past”.
